Elaine Briggs, Founder of Cosi Textiles. Former Fashion Director and Creative Director, she has worked for international publications: Italian Vogue Sposa, Italian Vogue Bambini, British Vogue Brides, The Observer and The Sunday Times. Clients included, Barbour, BBC, EMI, David Jones, Country Road and Harrods, Sir Simon Rattle, Joanna Lumley, Cecilia Bartoli and Kate Bush.
In Sydney over the 90’s, Elaine was Fashion Ad Manager of David Jones and Fashion Director of ‘She’ magazine. In 1997, on a visit to Myanmar, Elaine set up Yoma, an ethical jade jewellery company in Yangon. Moving back to London in 2000, Elaine became FD of Vogue Brides alongside showing Yoma in Paris. Clients inc: Liberty, Harrods, Erickson Beamon and Annie Lennox. Yoma closed in 2004 due to the crackdown in Myanmar. Elaine continued as Creative Director/ Freelance Fashion Editor in London for Italian Vogue Sposa, Vogue Bambini, Collezioni and Barbour International.
In 2009, seeking a way of combining her upmarket skills and ethical values in a meaningful business, Elaine developed Cosi. Strong family ties to the Himalayas; her Grandfather and her Tibetan daughter led her to research the art of hand weaving. Combining impeccable credentials and unbelievable quality. Cosi was the first luxury but ethical accessory brand to launch in Paris in 2009.
Cosi is stocked in high end shops in UK, Japan, France and Australia.
